Shabbir Hasan Khan, known by his pen name Josh Malihabadi, was a revolutionary poet whose fiery verses challenged social norms and inspired generations with their rebellious spirit. Born in Malihabad near Lucknow, Josh was known for his bold and unconventional poetry that often broke traditional boundaries. His work spanned romantic ghazals, revolutionary nazms, and passionate verses that spoke of freedom, love, and human dignity. Josh's poetry was characterized by its vigor, spontaneity, and fearless expression of emotions. He was equally comfortable writing about romantic love and social revolution, making him one of the most versatile poets of his time. After the partition of India, Josh migrated to Pakistan where he continued his literary work and was honored as the national poet. His autobiography "Yaadon ki Baraat" is considered a masterpiece of Urdu prose. Josh received numerous awards including the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and his legacy as a poet who dared to be different continues to inspire.
