Khwaja Haidar Ali, known by his pen name Aatish, was a prominent classical Urdu poet of the Lucknow school who significantly contributed to the development of Urdu poetry in the 19th century. Born in Faizabad, Aatish settled in Lucknow where he became one of the leading poets of the Awadh court. He was known for his mastery of the ghazal form and his ability to blend passion with philosophical depth. Aatish was a contemporary of Nasikh and together they represented the height of the Lucknow school of poetry.
